What is Marketing?

People define marketing as the mere selling of goods. However, it has a deeper meaning than that. Marketing involves a variety of disciplines. It is a strategy for allocating resources in order to achieve a person’s, a business’, or a country’s objectives.

But, marketing isn’t only based on theory. Marketing is based on its customers. Meaning its goals depend upon its customers and the people that it caters to. There won’t be any entrepreneurs or producers if there aren’t any consumers. Just like in science wherein there won’t be any beasts if there aren’t any prey.

Marketing begins with its customers. It begins with the questions who, why, what, when, where and how. It begins with thinking about what the customer wants, how they want it, when they want and need it, why they want and need the product and where the customers are.

As an entrepreneur, you should be in love with your ideas in order to breathe life into them. They should be able to commit their energy and time into those ideas. They should be passionate with those ideas but also be able to control that passion because once that passion consumes them; they will assume that everybody else is in love with their idea which sadly isn’t the case.

People are unique and they have their corresponding unique tastes. Your ideas will only work if you market them within the context of your target market’s taste.

Context may differ individually and simultaneously. It depends upon your idea and the age, the generation, and the aspect in which your idea may apply. It can also vary depending upon the social or the economic trend in the country. For example, selling books in a country that has a very low literacy rate isn’t such a good idea since we can imply that people there don’t have the time for books and so you will need to think of another idea that would best suit that place, according to what the people in that place likes in general.

You have to be careful not to invest without having a set of plans. If you don’t have a plan, then all your dreams will be considered as wishful thinking. A good plan will help you determine the focus of your energy and resources. At this point, marketing research is very important.

Nowadays, online marketing is on trend which then links us with marketing research. It will be very easy for us to do research because of the wide range of knowledge that the web supplies. However, we cannot be that dependent on research and planning alone because these two without imagination, is rubbish. It should be the mixture of these three. It’s this mixture that will help us reach our wildest entrepreneurial dreams.

Article Marketing

Let’s start with my most favorite part of online marketing which is article marketing. Article writing involves producing or writing articles and uploading them into the web which will drive traffic for your product’s website. It is beneficial because creating articles with valuable content will entice the readers to follow the link that is included in that article. Another is because those links that are placed in the articles can become links to your site, which increases the value of your site in the sight of search engines. This is why article marketing is one of the fundamental parts of an effective link building strategy.

Social Media

This is the process of accelerating of rankings of a website in the unpaid search results. The goal of SEO is to increase the visibility of the websites in the search engine results page. The higher the rank, the more visible the website becomes. The more vivid it becomes the more attention it captures and the more attention a website captures, the more the customers and once this happens, it means that your idea and your strategy coincided.

Video Marketing

Video Marketing

It is a fact and it is obvious that YouTube is the largest search engine in the world, and the third most visited site. A video can be incredibly social. And this is why a lot of products are being marketed through videos nowadays. Even people’s talents are being marketed via videos.
