You have to claim your Google My Business page. I don’t have to go through all the details of setting it up because there are a lot of manuals and articles available in the web concerning this matter.

So, once you have set it up, you need to first, add a long, unique and sensible description that’s correctly formatted and have links. Then, make sure to choose the right categories for your business. Don’t get mixed up, keep in mind that the category of your business will also lead the right customers toward it. Them upload as many photos as possible and make sure that they are good photos. Another thing is you should your business’ address that’s consistent to your website and local directories and then include your local phone number.

Next will be you profile image and cover photo. Make sure that these two are highly relevant to your business and make sure that they are of the best quality. Then, add your time of availability, like when you are open and when you close, or let’s say the times wherein you can be called or contacted. Finally, you should get real reviews from customers.

NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number)

You need to make sure that you have your full NAP across your website with uniform formatting all over.

These reviews are important because they have direct impact into local rankings. You should be able to know how to get your customer’s review.

Local On-Page SEO Factors

On-page SEO for local business owners and marketers conforms to some pretty old school SEO tactics. There’s quite a heavy weight towards the on-page content in the local search listings, so it is very important that, you squeeze the most value out of your content.

So, I won’t keep you for too long with all the details. These are the points:

Try to add your City/Region, plus a relevant keyword, within your landing page

  • H1 tag
  • URL
  • content
  • image ALT attributes

Or, embed a Google map with your business marker into your landing page.
